KlanWatch Exposed

by Kurt Saxon

From KurtSaxxon.com

Morris Dees, of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Montgomery, AL, presents himself as the champion of the persecuted and the enemy of the persecutors. Thus, Klanwatch, a program to warn good people of the threat of the Ku Klux Klan and all other "hate" groups. But does Klanwatch really combat hate or actually promote and profit from it?

When I was with the American Nazi Party, thirty-two years ago, there was a joke: Some Nazis were picketing and an Anti Defamation League man was watching with Mrs. Golding. He says to her, "See, Mrs. Golding, the Nazis are back. We must fight them. You must give money". So she gives money. Later that day the ADL man goes to the Nazis and divides the money.

Both were businesses which needed each other. The ADL publicized the Nazi "threat" in order to get contributions from anxious Jews. The Nazis needed the publicity to get contributions from Jew haters.

From 1964 through 1967, three and a half years, nearly all my associates were Birchers, Minutemen, Nazis, Klan and Identities. I had been a reporter and a nuthouse attendant and these people interested me and were fun. My own anxiety concerned the Communist threat, which seemed only too real then. Since these people shared my views about the Left I joined with them to combat that threat.

Looking back, neither the domestic Left nor international Communism were a real threat to our system. (Read "The Ugly Truth About The CFR"). But It was a good business for Birch founder Robert Welch, Minuteman Robert DePew, Nazi George Lincoln Rockwell and leaders of the various Klan groups. They all geared their propaganda to take advantage of the anxieties of neurotics. But regardless of how neurotic the Nazis were, they were no nuttier than the idiots on the Left carrying Viet Cong flags.

Incidentally, at no time during the '60s did the Nazi Party have more than 500 members, including 125 uniformed Stormtroopers. Yet, they were almost the mainstay of the ADL, attracting hefty contributions from our country's Goldings, Schwartzes, etc. All the street politics amounted to was a lot of media hype about campus clowns on the Left. and rowdy good-time-Charlies on the Right, nothing more.

In time, the Nazis faded out of sight, the campus Commies became corporate clowns, Minuteman DePew went to prison on unrelated charges, the Birchers went back into the woodwork: and the Identities took over the Klan and what was left of the radical Right, effectively killing it.

I had had no contact with or notice of gutter politics for over twenty years, then I saw and taped "Hate On Trial", a Bill Moyers 1992 production for PBS featuring Morris Dees versus Tom Metzger. This was the first time I had heard of Morris or Tom.

The trial concerned the killing of a black man by some Skinheads. It had no importance politically or socially. The Skinheads were simply bullies and punks with no social goals or class and could not be compared in any way with the people I had associated with in the past.

But here was Morris Dees publicizing them for all the world to see. The thing about the tape is that it makes Metzger and the Skinheads look really good to the type who would be attracted to the Skinheads. It was a recruiting tape, no less. Had Metzger used the tape to show to prospects he would, and maybe did, get a lot of recruits because of it. Even so, the Skinhead idea never got anywhere. They weren't colorful, had no class or program and had to merge with other groups so never gained attractiveness as a type. But you can be sure that Morris used the same tape to attract contributors to fight the Skinhead menace.

So what of "Klanwatch"? The Ku Klux Klan doesn't really exist as such. In 1924 there were up to four million Klan members. Today there are less than five thousand people pretending to be Klansmen. The belief system called "Identity" took over the Klan years ago and now they are Klan in name only.

The Klan message of the '20s was that the Jews and Catholics were taking over the country. That line appealed to a certain class of people who felt threatened by those with different belief systems, colors and cultures. Even so, the Klan was a kind of political dinosaur, anyway, having served no purpose since the days of reconstruction after the Civil War.

What was left of the Klan was revived at the beginning of the Cold War when Bertrand Compared revised the 19th Century Angio-Israelite belief system to be anti-Jewish. The Klan swallowed it hook, line and sinker and made it their own.

The bizarre ideas of Identity are that Jesus was not a Jew and that the white race is descended from the ten "lost" tribes of Israel. In John 4, verse 9 Jesus is talking to a Samaritan woman. "Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, 'How is it that thou, being a Jew, asketh drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans"'.

After some banter, Jesus says to her in verse, 22, "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews". This is only one of many Biblical proofs that Jesus was indeed a Jew. Besides, as the story goes, Jesus was sent to the Jews as their Messiah. They rejected Jesus and the Gentiles got him. This has long been seen as a Gentile victory over Jewry.

Now, concerning the nonsense that the white race was descended from the ten "lost" tribes of Israel. In 722 BC some 27,000 of the leading citizens of the ten tribes were deported to Assyria by Shalmaneser, leaving the lower classes behind to get along as best they could. These remnants were the "lost sheep of the house of Israel", lost to the Mosaic traditions and the Messianic promise, not the deportees.

The deportees never left Assyria but were assimilated. The Bible says of the deportees, 2 Kings 17: 6-23 "6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. 7 For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods. 8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made. 9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the Lord their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. 10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree: 11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the Lord carried away from before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger: 12 For they served idols, whereof the Lord said unto them. Ye shall not do this thing. 13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying. Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. 14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God. 15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them. 16 And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal. 17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger. 18 Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: that there was none left but the tribe of Judah only. 19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made. 20 And the Lord rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight. 21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the Lord, and made them sin a great sin. 22 For the children walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them; 23 Until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried out of their own land to Assyria unto this day."

So it wasn't just a matter of them being captured and lost physically. They were rejected for being vile and degenerate and were not wanted back, ever.

Had they left Assyria and dispersed throughout Europe and been the ones Jesus meant, he would have gone after them. But he never went beyond Tyre in Galilee. His disciples, who were sent to find the lost sheep, never left the area but went from local town to local town preaching, etc. (Matt. 10:10).

So how are we to judge the competence of anyone claiming familiarity with the Bible, who believes that Jesus was not a Jew and that the white race was descended from the ten tribes of Israel? Either his intelligence is too low, or his mental defects so severe as to render him incapable of being a threat to any system. He may occasionally assault a person of color or burn a cross or scrawl a swastika on a Jewish tombstone. He may even make a simple pipe bomb and plant it outside a clinic. Such acts have proven to be isolated and occasional, not widespread and frequent. They may be handled by local police or even by the FBI or ATF. But they are in no degree a threat to the system requiring contributions from the public to combat them.

So Klanwatch must have a different purpose than claimed. It seems that Morris Dees and his Southern Poverty Law Center are presenting the Klan and others described as the "radical right" as social and even national threats, hoping to help them to grow only to get contributions to combat them.

Consider their publication of Carla Johnston's alarmist piece on the power of shortwave radio. This is followed by a listing and description of the various shortwave programs promoting hatred and ill-disguised threats to our system and to minorities.

Anyone who feels threatened by Jews, blacks or our government wants to believe he is right and that his fears are justified. All he has to do is read the list and choose the radio host who will best reinforce his fantasies of being threatened and persecuted .

Read the listings for yourself and you'll see that they are not an exposé but a directory. They don't even say the programs are wrong and injurious to the minds of their listeners. They don't point out the flaws in their messages or discourage people from listening.

The Southern Poverty Law Center implies that their aim is to research and expose right wing radicals. But their listing me (as late as  12/27/98) shows that their research on me was secondhand at best, libelous and actionable and a disservice to their clients.

"Kurt Saxon, an Arkansas racist who calls himself the "father of
survivalism," uses his program to push survivalism, various
conspiracy theories and denial of the Holocaust. A former member
of the American Nazi Party, the John Birch Society and the
Minutemen, Saxon also is the author of The Poor Man's James Bond,
a book which details, among other things, how to build bombs and
make napalm and tear gas."

My name and the above description were removed from the full text of Carla Johnston's Radical Radio Redux after I bitterly complained to the SPLC concerning its libelous inaccuracies.

They begin by saying I'm a racist. This is defamatory. My website doesn't reflect racism. My 1970 appearance as a witness before the U.S. Senate doesn't reflect racism. Even my book: "Wheels Of Rage", about ex-Stormtroopers becoming outlaw bikers doesn't reflect racism. According to them, to be on short-wave automatically proves racism. I haven't been on short-wave in well over a year. My radio show had nothing to do with racism.

I don't call myself the father of Survivalism. I did make up the term. A Survivalist is one who anticipates the collapse of his system and prepares to survive it. The word has no connotations of race, religion or politics. The fact that the media has labeled right-wing radicals "Survivalists" is not my fault. Use of the term against me is meant to be defamatory.

Their piece says I push various conspiracy theories, although I'm on record for debunking the whole conspiracy fraud. Read "You Can't Trust A 'Patriot".

They say I deny the Holocaust. I never did but that story has a lot of holes I pointed out in my article "The Bogyansky Mystery".

They bring up my having been a member of the American Nazi Party. Since my former membership has nothing to do with my present activities, bringing it up is defamatory and libelous. Thirty-two years ago I was a Stormtrooper. Thirty-one years ago I wasn't. That's all there is to it.

They also bring up The Poor Man's James Bond, saying of it "a book which details, among other things, how to build bombs and make napalm and tear gas". They don't point out that since its publication in 1972 over 200,000 copies have been sold and there hasn't been one report of an innocent person being harmed because of it. The book has been a deterrent rather than a cause of violence. It's like giving a person an instant black belt in Karate. The person gains a new sense of responsibility and so will not misuse the knowledge.

It may be that Morris points readers to The Poor Man's James Bond hoping some unstable person will buy it, do something horrible, then he can solicit funds to combat me.

Morris Dees isn't protecting the world from the radical right. There is no radical right any more than there is an international conspiracy. What he presents as the radical right is only a nationwide sprinkling of frightened people threatening to take up arms against a fantasy of government tyranny.

This doesn't worry our government. Every government wants its people to approve of it. But every government has people who, regardless of the system, hate and fear that government. What to do with dissidents has been a problem faced by every government. Some governments, such as the Chinese, simply shoot them. Others put them in prisons or work camps.

Our government has hardly any problem with dissenters. It has an ally. When I was on short-wave radio several callers expressed the fear that the Feds would shut down all the antigovernment stations. They had been taken in by the conspiracists who had them convinced that our government was their enemy. They believed that they were on a master computer; that black helicopters spied on them with infrared, that they were under constant surveillance from all sides. It's as if they believed they had a Jew in their closet, an ATF man under their bed and an FBI man reading their mail and tapping their phone.

The last thing any government would want, then, is to shut down such stations. They serve a social purpose in that they keep troublemakers too frightened and paranoid to act, even if action were justified. So the Mark Koernkes, Chuck Harders, Bo Gritzs, Officer Jack McLambs, etc., are, in effect, working for the government as neutralizers.

For Morris Dees and his Southern Poverty Law Center to imply that these men are at odds with the government they claim to despise is silly. The whole thing is a joke. So, Mrs. Golding, when someone like Morris Dees wants you to give money to fight hate, give him the finger instead.
